You know the old phrase "like my family used to do it…" or "like my grandmother used to make it", or "that’s how Uncle Pete would do it…" often used to point out how things were somehow "better" because things were done differently "back then…" But really, when you peel back the layers of what they’re REALLY saying, it seems that people took their time doing things. They didn’t rush through everything. There’s a lesson here, and I think it’s NOT that we want to travel back to yesteryear, but we want to maybe "borrow" from the past that little thing—whatever it is—that makes people just slow down a bit.
